This month's edition of 'One Nation Under A Groove' features Seattle-based DJ, Calico (@calicosea). Calico has been DJing dance floors at clubs, concert venues, and parties around Seattle & the PNW since 2013. He independently produces, hosts, and curates Bad Idea, a party that has become a mainstay of Seattle nightlife. Bad Idea has hosted some of the best DJs along the West Coast, as well as DJs worldwide from Taipei to Sydney to São Paulo. It just returned from an LA debut in May and is making a return to Portland on July 12 at Kolectivo. He also regularly releases dance edits and remixes on his SoundCloud (soundcloud.com/calicosea/sets/calico-tracks) and Bandcamp (calicosea.bandcamp.com), fusing elements of Baltimore Club, House, Breaks, and Jersey Club into playful tracks with DJs and dance floors in mind.
