Max and I met in Portland at a ticket meet-up for the infamous Limited Edition party in 2016 and have been good friends ever since. We share a love and nostalgia for early ’90s and 2000s guitar music and often reflect on our own past experiences playing drums in crappy (but important) punk bands. Max grew up in Northville, Michigan, and later moved to Ann Arbor, where he found his home and community inside local parties at Arbor Vitae, PillowTalk, and Detroit party outfit Haute To Death. He moved to SF in 2021 and, while living there, hosted a monthly radio show on HydeFM. His set on Lower Grand Radio from last year is a prime example of his taste and skill as a selector and a DJ. I am very excited to host my dear old friend from afar in the studio on the first edition of Belly Music in 2024!
