Philip Brun Del Re (he/him) is a white, Euro-American, cisgender male artist born in Lansing, Michigan. Philip Brun Del Re’s artwork is a dialog with found objects, images, and texts. His aim is to propose a reconsideration of ubiquitous source material through both the process of physical and conceptual deconstruction and reconstruction. Philip’s art practice works towards co-opting hegemonic forms of communication by subverting and satirizing the language and symbols involved in branding, signage, slogans, and directives. He is currently an MFA candidate at San Diego State University’s School of Art & Design. Philip lives and has worked professionally as an art handler / installer in San Diego, California.
